The NFXF International Fragile X Conference

The NFXF International Fragile X Conference is the premier educational event for the Fragile X community. This biennial event brings individuals with Fragile X and their families, caregivers, friends, and professionals together to learn from one another and celebrate Fragile X.

This unique experience is not only educational but also empowering. Sessions will focus on strategies and techniques for supporting individuals living with Fragile X, as well as providing access to emerging research and opportunities. 

We are seeking proposals for the following presentation topics:

  • Guardianship/Power of Attorney/Conservatorship
  • Wellness/Mindful Activity

Fragile X Syndrome
  • Young children
  • School-age children

Fragile X Premutation
  • Fragile X-associated primary ovarian insufficiency (FXPOI)
  • Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS)

  • Medications and treatments

Research for Professionals
  • If there are enough presentations, a half-day professional-to-professional session will be offered on Sunday. Researchers can present their research to other professionals.

Family-Friendly Session Guidelines and Information

  • Submission deadline: February 2, 2026.
  • Notification will be provided by April 2, 2026
  • Presenters may be sharing a session with at least one other presenter or offered a poster presentation. You will be informed of the format (oral or poster presentation) at the time of notification.
  • Presentations are to be in a format with family-friendly language and terminology.
  • Slides may be used for presentation.
  • Focus on providing information and actionable strategies and techniques that attendees can implement at home, school, work, and in their community.
  • Proposals accepted as oral presentations will spend 1/3 of the session time presenting information and strategies, with the remainder of the assigned time for Q&A. An average session is 60 minutes (30 minutes per presentation if shared).

Research Session Guidelines and Information

  • Submission deadline: February 2, 2026.
  • Notification will be provided by April 2, 2026.
  • Oral presentations are limited to 15 minutes total: Presenting for 5–7 minutes and the remaining time for Q&A.
  • Primary presenters to provide: Contact information, curriculum vitae, professional bio, and photo.
  • Panel discussions: Each panelist has 2–3 minutes for an intro with the remaining time for Q&A.

Additional Information

  • The NFXF reserves the right to convert submitted oral presentations to poster presentations.
  • Oral Sessions may be recorded.
  • Poster presentations will not be recorded during the Poster Reception. Poster presenters may submit a self-recorded presentation.
  • All recordings will be made available for viewing to registered attendees and may be made available on the NFXF website.
  • Sibling & Self-Advocate sessions will not be recorded.

Presenter Responsibilities

Presenters and co-presenters are responsible for registering for the conference and for their own travel and related expenses. No honorarium will be provided.
